"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."  Proverbs 22:6

Youth

At Drouin Presbyterian we place a high priority on supporting parents in the task of raising their children to know and serve the Lord.  Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Consequently, many folk within the Church are actively involved as coordinators, leaders/teachers and assistants in ministry to children, youth and young adults; indeed, many of the youth and young adults are also actively involved in ministry.

Bible study groups for youth in Years 7 to 10 run each Sunday during school terms between the morning services, while older youth and young adults meet for a meal, fellowship and Bible study (Cell Group) on Tuesday evenings.  A youth group for Year 7+ (Gravity Youth Group) also meets on Fridays or Saturdays and is led by a team of young adults.

Gravity Youth Services are held about 8 times each year at 4.30 pm on Sundays.  Speakers open up the Scriptures to reveal what God has to say about a particular topic or part of the Bible and how this impacts us today.  Youth are involved in organizing and leading these services, including providing excellent worship music, and services are generally followed by tea and lots of socialising, basketball, etc.

Camping is always a wonderful way to build relationships, learn about God, and grow in faith.  Attendance at camps run by Presbyterian Youth in Victoria (PYV) and CYC Ministries is encouraged, with some young adults also serving as leaders.
