"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6 & 7
Prayer

Prayer underpins all ministries of the Church. Times of prayer will be undertaken at each of our ministries but we also currently have two specific prayer meetings where those who gather to pray for the wide-ranging ministries of our local congregation, pray for the communities in which we minister as well as praying for the advance of the gospel throughout this nation and world. You are welcome to join these groups.
Wednesday Mornings 7:00am - meeting at the Church Centre.
Thursday Evenings 7:30pm - at the home of the Kenney's (contact the Church Office for more details).
Don Carson, in the first chapter of his book, A Call to Spiritual Reformation, gives eight lessons from the school of prayer:
- Much praying is not done because we do not plan to pray.
- Adopt practical ways to impede mental drift.
- At various periods in your life, develop, if possible, a prayer-partner relationship.
- Choose models - but choose them well.
- Develop a system for your prayer lists.
- Mingle praise, confession, and intercession; but when you intercede, try to tie as many requests as possible to Scripture.
- If you are in any form of spiritual leadership, work at your public prayers.
- Pray until you pray.
"Pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
