Sermon Series Description

long_road-ahead
In the mornings, we're looking at Abraham's Journey. Abraham is an important figure in the Scriptures.  His life was interesting.  A man of faith who left his homeland to follow God's call to the unknown.  As we work through Genesis chapters 12 to 25, we will see the ups and downs, the blessings and disappointments, faith in action as well as the reality (he still sinned and stumbled from time to time).  More than Abraham's character, we will see the sovereignty of God in action and how God's promises cannot be thwarted by the imperfections of sinful mankind.

Discipleship

In the evenings, the series is on Discipleship.  One of the themes running through Mark's gospel is that of discipleship.  Jesus calls 12 men to Himself and prepares them for service in the Kingdom of God once His work on earth is complete.  As we go through Mark's gospel, we will look at the two main sections that the book is divided into; 1:1-8:30 answers the question 'Who is Jesus?' while the remainder of the book looks at the work of Jesus.  Both sections have implications for us as disciples of Jesus.  May we learn together what it means to be His disciple in the 21st century as we work our way through this wonderful gospel.
